The RICS Homebuyer Report is the most popular, mid-range report commissioned by property purchasers. Whilst it is not as detailed as the RICS Building Survey, it still provides an assessment of the visible condition of the property and identifies any defects as well as any required repairs or maintenance. The report does not include a valuation but does include rebuild valuation for insurance purposes.
As with the RICS Building Survey, the RICS Homebuyer Report adopts a traffic light system which enables you to easily identify areas of concern.
An RICS Homebuyer Report is most appropriate for:
- Most Traditional properties upto 80 years old.
- Houses, bungalows or flats.
Please feel free to contact a member of the team if you have any questions about which survey is the most appropriate.
If you would like a quote for a survey, please complete the contact sheet at the bottom of the page and we will call you back.

Northhold Group
I recently used Peacock Stevens when looking to purchase a new house. In the end I instructed two surveys as the depth and quality of the report on the first property identified defects that would have meant significant costs to me, meaning I did not proceed.
I am pleased that my second choice was defect free and the quality and detail in the survey was again of the highest standard.
Mrs Frances Hilton
Peacock Stevens recently carried out an RICS Building Survey for me on a house I was looking to purchase. The report was thorough and detailed but was also easy to understand. We are very happy in our new home.
Mr S Davenport
An excellent and comprehensive report and we will take heed of its findings. We are proceeding with the purchase and hopefully all will go according to plan. Thank you and with best wishes
Dr John Taylor-Robinson
