Castle Mill

Peacock Stevens were awarded the instruction from a local based client to undertake a Building Reinstatement Cost Assessment (BRCA) of the Castle Mill building in Rochdale.

The 100,000 sq ft building provides a large warehouse, offices and showroom over two stories.  No historic information was provided so measurements had to be undertaken on site and a general assessment of the buildings condition.

The final report and calculations showed that the building was, at the time, over valued for insurance reinstatement by 20% of the value calculated.  This actually saved the client money due to the lower value, which in turn reduced insurance premiums.
